Basshaunt Lake is a quiet, no motor lake, located approximately 15 km north of the town of Haliburton, and just to the southeast of Eagle Lake. It is conveniently accessed via County Road 14. The village of Eagle Lake is 5km away for quick access to some amenities and Haliburton is close by for more shopping, dining and recreational opportunities.

Anglers can expect to find lake trout as well as smallmouth bass in Basshaunt Lake.
The Haliburton County Snowmobile Association (HCSA) has over 350 kms of groomed trails throughout the region along some of the most spectacular scenery. Conveniently located to the north of Basshaunt Lake, there is a marked trail across Moose and Eagle Lakes that connect to the main B trail. The B trail also connects to the E trail to the south east of Basshaunt Lake, which provides access to the Paudash Trails.
For the biking enthusiast, you will enjoy the close proximity to Sir Sam’s Ski & Bike. They have a great variety of mountain bike trails for all levels of abilities along with some fantastic views of Eagle Lake from the chairlift. In the winter, there is downhill skiing and boarding at this facility with 14 groomed runs, rental shop, pro shop, snow school, X course, snow park and much more.
Also in Eagle Lake, you will find Sir Sam’s Inn, which was once the estate of Sir Samuel Hughes. Today, Sir Sam’s Inn, a couples resort and country inn, offers accommodations, dining, waterspa and also hosts weddings and conferences.
